The Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Department is always seeking new volunteers to join
our department!
The Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Department is 100% volunteer department, and our community depends on our well-trained volunteers to fulfill the duty of providing fire suppression, emergency medical response, hazardous materials response, and fire prevention services as well as community engagement and support.
Bridgeville community members or those living within 5-miles of our fire department are encouraged to apply.
Member Requirements
- Successfully pass a background screening and obtain a physical.
- Live within 5 miles of our fire station.
- Must have the time and willingness for emergency calls, in-house trainings and supplemental classes, and department fundraising.
Junior Fire Fighter Program Requirements
- For students between the ages of 14 and 17.
- Must have a parent or guardians permission to join.
- Must maintain good academic standing.
Associate Member Information
If you have an interest in volunteering with us but not in a firefighting capacity, there are other roles that are essential to the success of our fire department.
The following are some areas where your volunteer service could be of great help and importance to the BVFD:
- Fundraising
- Community and social event planning and execution
- Administrative support
- Photography and social media
- Recruiting
- Fire station and/or equipment maintenance
- Community engagement and public education
